Judicial center proceeds, may be built in phases

On a vote of 16-1, the Pierce County Board voted last Tuesday to move into the design development stage of planning a new judicial center. The resolution was amended to direct the architects to prepare the plans in such a way that the building could be built in stages.

Tourism group's plans for fall fest heard by chamber

A $5,000 grant has been awarded to the Pierce County Public Health Department for an awareness effort about folic acid's effectiveness in preventing birth defects.

County board adopts law to regulate tattoo parlors

The Pierce County Board adopted an ordinance last Tuesday that will allow the county to regulate, inspect and license tattoo parlors.

Pair build business around yearbook-on-CD-ROM idea

Shelly Burr and Lavone Weer SHELLY BURR AND LAVONE WEER have teamed in a new business that promotes high school yearbooks on CD-ROMs. Voila! Graphic Design and Interactive CD-ROMs is presently working with five area schools. The pair hope to eventually take their product nationwide.

Think about the possibilities if high school yearbooks were available on interactive CD-ROMs, rather than just in paper form.
