Arrests, citations

Thomas A. Heifner, 25, 235 W. Johnson St. #7, and Willard A. Seiffert, 45, Hudson, both for disorderly conduct last week late Monday night. Apparently the issue started as both drivers were coming toward River Falls on Hwy. 35. Each was upset by the other's driving. Finally, in a parking lot at 625 N. Main St., the two got out of their vehicles and the dispute led to blows. No serious injuries, although Seiffert had cuts to his face, allegedly from being hit by a window scraper used by Heifner. Each was give a fine of $157.

Holly R. Wiertzema, 21, 1477 Riverside Dr., for inattentive driving last week late Monday afternoon at Riverside Dr. and Paulson Rd. Wiertzema allegedly rearended another driver, Barbara A. Schmith, 52, Woodridge, Ill., at that intersection. Wiertzema was given an $83.20 fine.

Dennis M. Clark, 31, 1437 Emory Circle #1, for disorderly conduct and resisting arrest at 1 a.m. Saturday at the Club Kaos bar downtown. Clark got into a dispute with the bartender over writing a check and whether he should be served more to drink. Eventually, after being asked to leave, a scuffle broke out between Clark and a bar bouncer. Police say Clark continued to act unruly after his arrest, and when he was taken to the police station and later at the county jail in Ellsworth.

Charlene Ann Thompson, 47, 900 Orange St. #4, for disorderly conduct Friday afternoon at the apartment of Glen A. Jacquart, 1495 Riverside Dr. Police were called to this address several times that day because Thompson was allegedly there causing a disturbance. The two had been in a relationship. Allegedly, Thompson kept returning to Jacquart's apartment, pounding on the door and yelling. She was first warned by police to stop, then given a $157 fine. Finally, later in the afternoon, she was taken to county jail in Hudson.

Joseph M. Walz, 21, 836A CTH MM, for disorderly conduct Sunday night at 317 1/2 Spring St. Walz allegedly made 911 calls from that address when there was no emergency, even asking the dispatcher at one point: "What's up?" The 911 calls were traced and Walz was arrested and taken to the police station. He was given a $157 fine.

Lowein B. Bystrom, 28, Ellsworth, for disorderly conduct Saturday night at a house at 1620 Wisconsin St. Bystrom allegedly stopped at the home of his estranged wife and tried to get inside. She called for help. Bystrom left but was picked up by police as he drove away. He was given a $157 fine.

Jason A. Rasmussen, 24, Hudson, for disorderly conduct - provoking a disturbance, at Boomer's tavern, 107 E. Elm St., at 1:25 a.m. Sunday. Witnesses said Rasmussen allegedly was involved in a confrontation that led to a fight with another man. Rasmussen was given a $157 fine.

Ahmed Farouk Elsayed, 21, St. Paul, for driving without a valid license downtown last week Wednesday afternoon. Elsayed's car was stopped in connection to a shoplifting investigation at Holiday service station. No theft charges were made, but Elsayed was given a $95.50 fine for the license violation.

Peter J. Terwilliger, 44, 230 S. Fourth St., for a probation violation last week Tuesday afternoon. Terwilliger was picked up by police where he works at Fox's Rent-it Center and taken to county jail in Ellsworth.

Sean M. Funk, 21, Hudson, for two active arrest warrants from Pierce County last week Tuesday morning. Funk was picked up by police at the UW-RF Ames Education Center building and taken to county jail in Ellsworth.

Theft

Of a handmade quilt belonging to Carole Mottaz, who oversees the Renaissance School, a class taught in B9 in the Ames Center at UW-RF. The quilt's absence from the classroom was first noted on Monday, Jan. 10. The quilt has sentimental value to Mottaz - it was given to her years ago by her 5th grade class. It is 4x4 feet, green with small white patterns, including stars, flowers and small animals. Loss, $100.

Vandalism

To a car belonging to Kristin A. Maul, 415 McMillan Hall at UW-RF, while the car was parked at Ramer Field between Jan. 15 and 20. The front tires were slashed and Maul's car had to be towed for repair. Loss, $150.

Jan. 18 - 11:20 a.m., between Kendra L. Tapp, 16, Ellsworth, and Melissa A. McKernon, 20, a UW-RF student from Owatonna, Minn.

Jan. 19 - 7 p.m., between Theresa A. Zirbel, 22, 416 1/2 N. Fourth St., and a parked car at the apartment building parking lot at 950 S. Main St.

Jan. 20 - 9:30 a.m., between Patrick E. Yunker, 35, 1198 Rifle Range Rd., a city plower, and Shari L. Hague, 36, 543 N. Grove St., at Division and Seventh streets.

Jan. 21 - 8:50 a.m., between Kim L. Larsen, 38, 1473 Riverside Dr., and Kathleen M. Weygand, 47, Stacy, Minn., at Main St. and CTH MM.

Jan. 22 - 12:55 p.m., between Melissa C. Donnay, 21, a UW-RF student from Northwood, Minn., and Laura B. Hahn, 19, Phillips, at Cascade Ave. and Third St. Donnay was allegedly rearended by Hahn, though slippery conditions are said to have contributed to the crash.

Jan. 23 - 1 p.m., between Kelly E. Ebben, 39, 82 Emerson Valley Dr., and Steven S. Meinsen, 46, 432 River Hills Rd., near the end of the 100 block of W. Walnut St. Icy conditions may have contributed to this crash.
