Egyptian trip enjoyable: Cemetery Road is fun

TO THE EDITOR:

I greatly enjoy Dave Wood's columns about his trip to Egypt and am glad there will be more. Thanks, Dave!

So, what's in a name?

Our fair city is debating a change of name for a street now known as "Cemetery Road." This subject is hardly an inanimate one. It's regarding a.well.a road with a loooong established cemetery planted on its north side.

This would be a large departure from the norm. Why kill a good thing? Is this really the demise of things as we know them? What a loss. Perish the thought!

We locals all know it as such. It's hosted its share of bodies in the Stygian dead of night necking in cars nestled under the shade of stately old trees which hang over the drives.

Folks know they might catch hell for necking there, but persist (at least they did in MY day) anyway.

Besides, and the most terrible death knell, would be the possibility that if the name were changed, some of the boys and ghouls might get lost.
