Update: Authorities ID motorcyclist injured in rural Star Prairie

Authorities on Tuesday identified the western Wisconsin man airlifted from St. Croix County last weekend after his motorcycle crashed just north of the county line.

A Polk County accident report identified the man as 58-year-old Scott M. Gregory of Luck. He was taken by ambulance to Star Prairie in St. Croix County, where he was airlifted to Regions Hospital in St. Paul with serious injuries, the report states.

According to the report, Gregory was under the influence at the time of the crash and was not wearing a helmet.

The crash occurred at 4:18 p.m. Saturday in the 100 block of Highway 65 when the man failed to negotiate a curve and went off the roadway. The driver was riding a 2006 Harley-Davidson Road King, according to the sheriff’s office.

Gregory was cited by the sheriff’s office for failure to keep a vehicle under control.
