East Ridge wins final dual meet of regular season

The East Ridge girls' swimming and diving team wrapped up its dual meet schedule on the winning side of a dual meet with Forest Lake on Thursday, Oct. 26.

Contributing with first-place finishes for the Raptors were Chloe Wangensteen in the 200 individual medley (2:22.68), Kyra Bachman in the 50 freestyle (25.83), Kolbe Bachman in the 100 freestyle (58.04), Paige Smoley in the 100 backstroke (1:03.24) and Shivani Kolla in the 100 backstroke (1:14.48).

East Ridge also got a win in the 200 medley relay as Smoley, Ali Smith, Max Smith and Daphne Smoley swam to a time of 1:58.76.

Woodbury

Woodbury dropped its regular season finale against Mounds View 98-80 on the road Thursday, Oct. 26.

Highlights for the Royals included 39 individual personal best times, seventh-grader Sarah Parker breaking a grade level record in the 100 butterfly and a 1-2-3 finish for the Royals' divers.

Caitlyn Greenwalt finished first for the Royals in the diving competition, scoring a 198.25. Following her were teammates Anna Lomnicki in second place with a score of 162.95 and Audrey Hong in third with a 159.80.

Gabby Vitela finished first in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1-minute, 3.85 seconds. Parker finished third in the 100 butterfly with a time of 1:08.84 in her record-breaking performance.

Park

Park dropped a 116-70 dual meet at Roseville to wrap up the regular season on Oct. 26.

The Wolfpack had two swimmers take first-place in multiple events in the dual. Alyssa Larson finished first in both the 200 freestyle with a time of 2-minutes, 13.50 seconds and the 500 freestyle in 5:51.71. Tiana Cachuela also placed first in the 200 individual medley (2:27.82) and the 100 butterfly (1:03.87).

Park's 200 medley relay also placed first at Roseville. The team of Paige Hill, Julia Quinn, Cachuela and Chloe McNearney swam to a time of 2:12.03.

Kate Reckinger also placed first in the 100 backstroke with a time of 1:14.74.

Sections

Park, East Ridge and Woodbury will swim in the Class 2A, Section 3 tournament on Nov. 8-10 at Hidden Oaks Middle School in Prior Lake. The section swim finals will be held on Friday, Nov. 10.
