State parks to automate campsite reservation system in mid-March
The Wisconsin State Park system will activate a new toll-free telephone number, 1-888-WI-PARKS (888-947-2757), after the first of the year that people will be able to start using later this spring to reserve campsites at state parks and forests. State park officials will announce in mid-March the exact date when the new automated reservation system will become operational this spring.
New members inducted into NAHS
Hudson High School's chapter of the National Art Honor Society inducted new members this month. The focus of the organization is to promote art within the community. Every two weeks students change the displays of the student art works located in local banks, the library, post office and town hall.
UW-RF's Rohde retiring from agriculture dean's position
Gary Rohde, the longtime dean of the College of Agriculture, Food & Environmental Sciences at UW-River Falls, has announced his retirement from the University.
Commission to host public zebra mussel seminars on Jan. 21
The Minnesota-Wisconsin Boundary Area Commission will host two free public seminars on the threat of zebra mussels to the St. Croix River, at which nationally-known experts will lead informative panel discussions. Both seminars will be on Thursday, Jan. 21, 1999. The first will be in the afternoon from 3-5 p.m. at Stillwater City Hall, 216 N. 4th St., and the second, that evening from 7-9 p.m. at Lee Auditorium, Willow River School, 416 St. Croix St., Hudson.
