This shows where the Bay City village trail that would go through David Meixner’s land. The area on the peninsula, which would be the largest part of the trail, was under water eight different times this year, Meixner said. “When the river stage reaches 7.5 feet the peninsula starts to flood in several places. Flood stage for Bay City is 14 feet. It is not uncommon for the peninsula to be totally under water in the spring and during heavy rain events,” Meixner said. (Photo courtesy of David Meixner)

An affidavit filed by Bay City village president James Turvaville Jan. 24, 2008 used the wrong legal descriptions when making land claims of village streets on parcels now owned by David Meixner. The descriptions used actually refer to land in Blocks 28-30 and Block 31 (not pictured, which is located north of Hwy. 35), not Meixner’s parcels (28-31 in the upper left corner). (Submitted photo)
