A civil suit filed last year by Bay City residents against the village, Village Board and village clerk saw a ruling filed by the judge July 12. Pierce County Circuit Judge Joseph D. Boles ordered the plaintiffs' attorney to prepare a writ, directing Bay City Village Clerk Shawnie King to prepare a certificate finding a petition circulated by the plaintiffs last year to be sufficient, in proper form and submitted immediately to the Village Board in compliance with state law.

KNAPP -- Three people died in a fiery crash Thursday evening, July 13 on Interstate-94 between Baldwin and Menomonie. According to a news release, at about 5:44 p.m. the Eau Claire State Patrol Post received multiple driving complaints of a black vehicle that crossed the median and traveling westbound in the eastbound lanes of I-94 near milepost 37 at a high rate of speed.
Sadie M. Bleyle, 26, Hastings, Minn., posted a $5,000 signature bond on a felony possession of methamphetamine charge June 28. The charge resulted from a June 27 incident in Prescott. Sanjeev A. Dhawan, 23, Prescott, pleaded innocent and posted a $2,000 signature bond on two misdemeanor bail jumping charges June 26. The charges stemmed from incidents April 27 and May 5 in Prescott.
Obama Care TO THE EDITOR I've worked in a factory for 32 years. They provided me with a pension and health insurance. The health care premiums are deducted from my pension. The first year after retirement premiums were less than $50 a month. Gradually they went up but the last three years they went up $1,700.
Wisconsin wolf count analysis TO THE EDITOR For the eighth year, I reviewed in detail the tracking data from this year's wolf count. The wolf count is conducted each year from December through mid-April, when the wolf population is at its lowest point. The count consists of data from tracking collars and on-the-ground counts by volunteers and DNR personnel. Public reports are also used.
TOWN OF TRIMBELLE -- Two people were airlifted from the scene of a head-on crash Wednesday, June 20 in the town of Trimbelle. Wisconsin State Patrol troopers responded to the scene of the crash at about 4:35 p.m. at the intersection of U.S. Highway 10 and County Road J in the town of Trimbelle.
TOWN OF MAIDEN ROCK -- A 74-year-old Plum City man was taken by helicopter to the hospital after he overturned his ATV and struck his head. Pierce County Sheriff’s deputies responded to N1601 76th St. in the town of Maiden Rock at about 10 a.m. Thursday, June 8 where Gerald L. Bemis had been operating a 2003 Polaris Sportsman 700 on his land. He reportedly lost control on a trail, overturned and hit his head.
Austin L. Blodgett, 23, Ellsworth, pleaded innocent and posted a $3,000 signature bond on a felony take and drive vehicle without consent charge May 22. The charge stemmed from a March 12 incident in the town of Spring Lake. Korbin L. Burke, 26, River Falls, posted a $5,000 signature bond on felony bail jumping and disorderly conduct charges May 26. The charges resulted from a May 25 incident in River Falls.
