District 29 Assembly candidates include businessmen, teachers

Five candidates -- two Democrats and three Republicans -- will go into the Sept. 12 primary election for the District 29 seat in the Wisconsin Assembly.

The 29th District does not include the immediate Hudson area, but does encompass towns and cities just east of Hudson, including the towns of Warren, Richmond and Kinnickinnic and the village of Roberts.

Two - one Democrat and one Republican - will survive the primary to face off in November. The winner of that election will replace Republican Andy Lamb, who served only one term before deciding not to seek re-election.

This year's candidates include Republicans John Murtha, Rob Stafsholt and Isaac Weix; and Democrats Kerry Kittel and Craig Mohn.

Printed below are the candidates' responses to a series of questions. (For more election information, go to the RiverTown Newspaper Group Vote 2006 Web site at www.rivertowns.net/vote2006.

I will work hard to accomplish these goals as a member of the legislature.
