Dems reject Lautenschlager; GOP picks Van Hollen

Wisconsin Democratic voters rejected incumbent state Attorney General, Peg Lautenschlager and have picked Dane County Executive, Kathleen Falk as their candidate for AG in the November election.

Falk will face off against the GOP pick, J.B. Van Hollen, the former U.S. Attorney from western Wisconsin. Van Hollen got 60 percent of the GOP vote in Tuesday's primary against challenger Paul Bucher.

In the race for State Secretary, Democratic voters overwhelmingly voted for incumbent Doug La Follette over his challenger Scot Ross.

Republicans also chose Jean Hundertmark as their candidate for Lt. Governor.

In state legislative races area Democrats picked Kathleen Vinehout over Chris Danou to challenge Republican-incumbent Ron Brown for the 31st state Senate seat.

In the hotly contested 29th Assembly District Republicans chose John Murtha to run against the Democratic pick Kerry Kittel.

In the 91st Assembly District Rep. Barbara Gronemus easily survived her Democatic primary against Mark Totty. Gronemus will run against Republican David Anderson in the November General Election.

In the race for Pierce County Sheriff Democrats picked Nancy Orthwerth to run against Republican-incumbent Everett Muhlhausen.

In the Pierce County Treasurer primary contest Republican Tami Langer won and will face off against Paula Knutson in November.

Polk County District Attorney incumbent Karen Olson lost her primary challenge from fellow Democrat Dan Steffan.
