When Meghan Odom and Angela Dehart decided they wanted to open a business together, they looked at a number of options. While doing some research the two women, who both have backgrounds in the fitness industry, stumbled upon a business called Get In Shape for Women.
Both women loved the concept of Get In Shape for Women and decided that they wanted to open a studio. After doing some more research, the two decided to open that studio in Rosemount.
"There's nothing else like it," said Odom of the concept for Get In Shape for Women.
Get In Shape offers small-group personal training in a studio environment. Odom said the groups are no larger than four people and focus on reaching attainable goals.
Dehart said the program offers a balanced approach to fitness. Each session includes 30 minutes of weight training, 25 minutes of cardio, and nutrition coaching.
Get In Shape does not accept everyone. Odom said the participants must have a measurable goal and be willing to dedicate themselves to meeting that goal through hard work.
"Accountability is a huge part of this program," said Odom.
Both Dehart and Odom have worked in fitness for years. Odom has a degree in health and fitness, has worked as a personal trainer and has taught a variety of fitness classes. Dehart has taught fitness classes and is a certified personal trainer.
Dehart said they both felt like Get In Shape for Women shared their philosophy for using fitness and nutrition to take charge of your life.
"It's a great work out," said Odom.
Get In Shape for Women started in Massachusetts. Over the last several years franchises have opened around the country. In Minnesota there is one other location in St. Louis Park.
Get In Shape for Women is located at 15095 Claret Avenue, next to Great Clips. The studio will host its grand opening from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., Nov. 12 at the studio. To learn more about Get In Shape for Women check out www.getinshapeforwomen.com.
