The Ellsworth Shopko pharmacy will close in the beginning of February, the Ellsworth Chamber of Commerce confirmed Wednesday.

The closing follows the announcement that the company was filing for bankruptcy, and that several full stores and pharmacies would be closing. River Falls Shopko pharmacy closed on Tuesday, Jan. 29.

Shopko announced it would conduct an auction process for its pharmacy business in January.

The Ellsworth Shopko pharmacy files have been sold to Walgreens effective Feb. 5, the Chamber announced in a Facebook post after confirming with Shopko corporate headquarters.

Patients are advised to contact a new pharmacy of their choice and have that pharmacy contact Shopko about prescriptions on file.

Questions can be directed to the Shopko pharmacy at 715-273-4278.

River Falls and Ellsworth Shopko pharmacies have yet to be added to the list of closed locations on Shopko's website.

No announcements have been made about fully closing either retail store.
