A familiar River Falls sight will soon be visible on another Main Street when Kinni Cafe opens its new location in Ellsworth.

The second location for owners Frank and Chelsea Balazi is tentatively set to open in March.

"It's amazing and a dream come true," Chelsea Balazi said.

The two first started looking at the location at 358 W. Main St. more than a year ago. It most recently housed Papa Tronnio's Pizza and Twisted Oak Coffee, which both vacated the Ellsworth building to focus on the original businesses in Prescott.

"We have been wanting this location for awhile," Chelsea Balazi said.

Everything started coming together with the location in December. The new store was announced in January.

Chelsea Balazi said the two have been eager to bring a new location to Ellsworth.

The two are now working on getting their new space ready with renovations, kitchen equipment and other tasks on the list.

The location provides the Main Street feel that Chelsea Balazi said she likes.

The Kinni Cafe in River Falls sees a lot of Ellsworth customers, who have been suggesting a Ellsworth location to the two for years.

Balazi said they're looking forward to meeting even more people in the community.

"We have met so many families and people," she said. "It's exciting to meet new people and get to know Ellsworth."

The Ellsworth location will bring the same menu, with the daily specials, homemade soup and pie that the cafe is known for. The hours will be shorter to start. Ellsworth's Kinni Cafe will be open from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m.

"We just want to give both places the best we can," Chelsea Balazi said.

Frank and Chelsea Balazi have owned the River Falls restaurant since 2014, and worked there as a cook and waitress before purchasing it.

They both enjoy the business, Chelsea Balazi said.

"I'm from a big family so I have always loved cooking because I always had to feed a large group of people," Chelsea Balazi said.

Frank has been in the business for 25 years following other family members and their experiences.

They're excited to now be setting up a new chapter in Ellsworth.

"We want to give them the best small-town cafe restaurant that we can," Chelsea Balazi said.
