Plainview Milk Products Cooperative and Hastings Co-op Creamery recently announced a merger. The new company will do business under the Plainview Milk Products Cooperative name, with production facilities in Plainview and Hastings. Consumer milk products will be marketed under the Valley View Farms brand.
"I am genuinely excited about the prospects for the future. Plainview Milk Products and Hastings Co-op Creamery were two strong companies with high-caliber people committed to making them thrive," Plainview General Manager Randy Paulson said. "Today, we are one company demonstrating that same commitment to quality, with the number of high-quality people multiplied, committed to bottling and creating milk products that are unsurpassed in the region."
Hastings Dairy Store, a fixture of the Hastings community, will remain open, selling Valley View Farms milk, frozen treats and Plainview butter, among other things.
Plainview Milk Products Cooperative was established in 1899, manufacturing dry milk, butter, and select fluid milk products.
