St. Croix EDC helped celebrate National Manufacturing Day on Friday, Oct. 5 with a visit to St. Croix Valley Blow Molding (SCVBM) in the town of Hudson.

SCVBM is owned and operated by Jim Bradac, who also owns Ceme-Tube at the same location on Schommer Drive.

Ceme-Tube is a plastics-based replacement for cardboard forming tubes used in the installation of light poles, bollards and standards.

SCVBM was formed as an in-house production center for the Ceme-Tube products. As Bradac wrote on the Ceme-Tube Facebook page, "We will be the only large part blow molder for 100+ miles in any direction. We have the capacity to mold up to a 50-pound plastic part, and feature a state-of-the-art, 7-axis robotics for secondary operations. The main purpose for opening this new manufacturing plant was to eliminate the outsourced manufacturing of Ceme-Tubes."
