The River Falls Area Hospital plans to celebrate the opening and accreditation of its new within-the-hospital Rivers Cancer Center 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, May 25, at the hospital, 1629 E. Division St. Organizers will hold a ceremonial tree and flower planting and present a program that includes patient testimonials, a keynote address from outdoors-TV producer Ron Schara, a video, the ribbon cutting and foundation announcements.

Local musicians Tommy Bentz and Chris Silver will play at the event, and visitors can tour the cancer center during the open house. The first 200 guests receive a gift bag, and all guests will enjoy food and beverages, as well as a chance to enter a drawing for an iPad.

RFAH erected a big, new monument sign (pictured) on Friday, May 13, which shows the RFAH name as well as Rivers Cancer Center.
