The Flood Run, a rite of spring along the Mississippi River in Minnesota and Wisconsin, attracted upwards of 25,000 motorcyclists, according to some accounts.

Flood Run organizers did not have numbers of participants in Saturday’s event nor the dollar amount they raised for Gillette Children’s Specialty Health Care.

This was the 50th anniversary of the original run by a dozen motorcyclists from the Twin Cities who rode the 90-plus miles to Winona, Minnesota, where they assisted with flooding.
