Despite the prediction of snowy weather for the weekend of April 27, Woodbury American Legion Post 501 completed a successful three-day Poppy event with no bad weather and a tremendous turnout from the community.

"American Legion Poppy Days was a huge success raising over $12,000," Post Commander Tom Grezek said. "This will allow the Post to continue to support the Woodbury community and veterans through scholarships and donations to the community."

The red poppy honors every service member who has worn the country's uniform and also those service members who have died in the name of liberty, freedom and democracy.
