Hot Air Affair committee members

"When Pigskins Fly" will be the theme of the 2011 Hudson Hot Air Affair set for Feb. 4, 5 and 6. That's the word from event chairperson Evy Nerbonne in announcing the winter festival's tribute to the game of football.

"We're the same weekend as the big game and we think it's time to celebrate all things pigskin," she explained. "We're hoping to do promotions with the Packers and the Vikings, but you never know whether one of the teams may be busy that weekend." The HAA committee expects the football theme to show up in retail promotions, parade costumes and special appearances by athletes.

WESTconsin Credit Union will be returning as the corporate sponsor of the Hot Air Affair. Hudson manager Jim Wookey said his staff is already pulling football jerseys from their closets to make the weekend festive. Wookey and WESTconsin CU staff from the Hudson office serve on the HAA committee, providing volunteer efforts in sponsor recruitment, event planning and HAA weekend committee work.
