The 25th Annual Relay For Life of Hastings will be held on Friday, August 2 at Levee Park. The event will start with opening ceremonies at 6 p.m. and wrap-up at 11 p.m.

The opening ceremonies will feature guest speakers KARE meteorologist Sven Sundgaard, Dr. Florence Kotiso, an oncologist with Allina Health, and Allina Health gastroenterologist Christina Pieper-Bigelow.

The event is open to the public and has a wide variety of activities for the whole family.

To cheer on survivors of cancer and their caregivers, everyone is invited to join in the flagship of Relay For Life, the Survivor/Caregiver Walk.

A concert will be provided by The Coxmen and Joe Gillaspie, food from Hastings Public House and drinks available for purchase from the Second Street Depot. A carnival for kids will be set up, including a bounce house, cotton candy and face painting. There will also be a silent auction.

The goal of Relay For Life is to honor those who have been touched by cancer and help raise funds for the American Cancer Society to aid cancer research. This year’s Relay For Life of Hastings goal is $30,000.
