Bundled up in all their snow gear, students, faculty, parents and grandparents showed their appreciation for support from Vermillion-area business by delivering hand-made cards and singing Christmas carols. The rural, pre-K through sixth-grade school, under the direction of second-grade teacher Maria Therres sang many traditional Christmas songs along with crowd-pleasers like "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer." The student body tipped the scale at the Vermillion Elevator at 9,999 pounds. Parent volunteers prepared hot chocolate and cookies for the entire group after their eight stops at Vermillion community business. Photos courtesy of Julie Strommen
