The Hudson Police Department's citizen police academy will take place this fall from Sept. 19 through Nov. 13.
Participants will learn about the history of law enforcement and the Hudson Police Department, emergency vehicle operations and traffic stops, OWI enforcement, crime scene investigations, K-9/drug interdiction, defense and arrest tactics including Tasers, criminal investigations and use of deadly force. Some classes will include hands-on activities like Taser demonstrations and a use of deadly force simulator.
A registration form can be obtained from the police department. A background check is required for all participants.
Classes are 6-9 p.m. on Tuesdays.
