United Way of Hastings will be holding its next "Life 101" workshop from 6:30-7:30 p.m. Thursday, May 2, at the Hastings High School Lecture Hall.

The workshop, "Is College the Only Option? How to Make Smart Post High School Choices and Not Graduate $100,000 in Debt," will cover the different options that teens have after high school.

The session will feature special guest Heidi Fierek, from Dakota County Financial Empowerment, who has experience in helping others with financial decisions. Joining her will be Hastings alumnus and recent University of Minnesota graduate, Mike Tappella, who can share his experience on how he reduced his costs for college.

The workshop is free and open to teens, young adults and any interested parents or guardians. An optional question-and-answer session will be held until 8 p.m., immediately after the workshop.
