After snapping a 14-game winning streak, the University of Minnesota Golden Gophers football team claimed Paul Bunyan's Axe last November against University of Wisconsin Badgers.

The axe has been traded between the rival schools since 1948, a prized possession that gives bragging rights to the teams and their fans.

As part of a nine-city tour, the University of Minnesota made a brief stop with the Axe June 6 in Central Park.

Gopher fans were able to take photos and enjoy the axe - while they still have it, of course.

The two colleges are 60-60-8 when playing each other, with the Gophers evening the record after last November's 37-15 win in Madison, Wis.
