Hudson once again celebrated the St. Croix River this past week with the annual RiverFest, running July 15 through July 21.

A crew gathered at Lakefront Park Tuesday morning for the river clean-up, a core activity of the celebration. Trash collected was used to decorate Scrappy, the aquatic mascot of the event.

The week also included a variety of events such as a presentation by the Carpenter Nature Center, an environmental awareness-themed puppet show, an evening hike, yoga, community band concert, a visit from a mermaid and more.

Rain on Saturday moved the Native American Celebration indoors to Hudson Middle School. The planned traditional games, dancing and music and poetry continued under the roof.

Clear skies came out again on Sunday for the Civil War encampment at the Octagon House, and The Longer Table event at Lakefront Park.
