About 1,500 individuals attended the Hispanic Heritage Festival (Festival de la herencia hispana) in Red Wing on Saturday, Sept. 7. The event featured face painting, crafts, food trucks, booths for local organizations and a variety of live music.

Performers included a mariachi band, Colombian dancers and Aztec dancers. While groups performed, the audience danced to the music and many of the children in attendance hula-hooped to the beat.

The festival was sponsored by Hispanic Outreach of Goodhue County, an organization that works to help Latino individuals and communities within the county.
