On April 24, Faith Community Church's Awana Clubs hosted an annual awards night and
celebrated 30 years of Awana at the church.
When FCC first offered Awana Clubs, about 50 children gathered on Wednesday nights for an evening of Bible teaching, scripture memorization, games and fun. Now, approximately 350 children, ages 3 through sixth grade, attend each week. More than 130 seventh graders through adults serve as listeners, co-leaders or leaders.
FCC also honored the children and leaders who participated this year in Awana Clubs' four clubs: Puggles (3-year-olds), Cubbies (4- and 5-year-olds who are pre-kindergarten), Sparks
(kindergarteners to second graders) and Truth & Training (T&T, third to sixth-graders).
The Timothy Award is presented to those students who have completed Truth and Training Books 1-4 and all associated activities. Recipients must have completed the sixth grade or higher. Sarah Ford, Adria Kissinger, Shailee Pfannes, Maliyah Sundby, William Stauffer and Roen Schindler Van Hoof were this year's recipients.
The Milestone Award was presented to Rachel Franzwa. To receive the Milestone Award, recipients must have completed Trek Book 1.
Awana Clubs meet at FCC at 777 Carmichael Road on Wednesday nights from 6:30-8 p.m. throughout the school year. Awana Clubs is an international, Bible-centered children's ministry
providing local churches with weekly clubs and programs.
