River Falls has been hit hard with some big storms this winter making travel nearly impossible. During one of the last snow storms, myself and two Wellhaven Senior Living team members, Cindy Haney, a cook and Deb Roman, a caregiver, opted to stay overnight.
"We all had important work to do the following morning and wanted to ensure that we would be here for our tenants," said Roman. "It was a fun evening and a great opportunity to bond with fellow team members."
The three of us stayed in an open apartment and gathered resources from throughout the building including blankets and pillows. A fellow team member lent us air mattresses. We used the portable television and a Blu ray player from the Wellhaven library and watched a movie.
The next morning, we helped shovel around our building as we knew many of our tenants would be heading to church since it was Sunday.
It was a new experience for each of us but we were most grateful to be safe and able to work.
