PHILLIPS - The Ellsworth High School girls' tennis team finished in first place in the Phillips Invitational held Saturday.

The Panthers won all three dual meets in the four-team invite. The Panthers downed Hurley 5-2, beat the host Loggers 5-2 and downed Barron 6-1. Ellsworth had lost to Barron 6-1 last month in a quadrgaular meet in Baldwin.

Going unbeaten for the meet for EHS were Andrea Roper at No. 4 singles, the No. 2 doubles team of Kendra Thoen and Anna Olson and the No. 3 doubles team of Maria Cole and Julia Tonsager.
