An imagine titled "Red Wing Marina" was named Best of Show at the 2010 Plein Air Arts Festival sponsored last week by the Red Wing Arts Association.

Ivan Zassavitski of Ham Lake, Minn., created the painting, which showed the marina with reflections of the water at Colvill Park. He received a $750 prize.

The Depot Award and $500 went to Dan Wiemer of Red Wing for "Standing Guard," a watercolor of a farmhouse with a view of its porch and giant oak tree; the Best Downtown prize of $250 went to "Frame Shop Alley by Pat Undis of Ramsey, Minn., which showed a downtown shop door with long morning shadows.

Winner of the Quick Paint two-hour contest at the concert in Central Park and a $250 award was Kathie Wheeler of Vernon County, Wis. The Artists' Choice award of $250 went to "Loaded and Moored Yet Ready to Go," a barge and piling painting completed in two hours by Lisa K. Stauffer of Duluth.

In addition, Awards of Excellence were awarded to Lynn Brown for "Reflections," Andy Evensen for "Birdhouse at Asper's," Kathie Wheeler for "Reflections," Mike Rada for "Morning Willow," Jim Henley for "Rattlesnake Bluff," Lisa K. Stauffer for "Old Frontenac Flowage," and Jeanne Licari for "Boat Houses."
