Spotlight: Twenty-seven fiber and jewelry artists will show their diverse works during Crossings' ninth annual "Fabrications" exhibit open now through Dec. 31.

Intriguing bowls, earrings, wall hangings, stone and wire pendants, scarves, purses and more can be viewed during Crossings' holiday open hours. A public reception for the art is 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday Dec. 8,

Among this year's exhibitors is well-known artist and instructor Jo Wood of Duluth. Wood's pieces have been exhibited throughout the country and are included in collections of the Minnesota Historical Society and Mayo Clinic.

She says her creations celebrate her connection to nature and "serve as portals to the peace and beauty of place."

For many years, Wood lived along the North Shore in a rustic log cabin where she hauled water, heated with wood, and practiced her art.

Other exhibitors come from around Minnesota, Iowa, Wisconsin and Illinois. Marijke van Welzen of the Netherlands will show two Nuno felted scarves.

Crossings holiday open hours are in effect through Dec.24 and are Monday and Tuesday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Wednesday and Thursday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Friday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Saturday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.; and Sunday 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Crossings is located at 320 East Ave., Zumbrota.
