Here at Hudson Library we would like to extend our internet services outside of the confines of the library. We have started lending patrons portable hotspots so that anywhere they go they will have access to the internet. Do you need Wi-Fi for a long trip in your car? We've got you covered! Did your Wi-Fi go out in your house? We've got you covered! And it's free of cost.

But what is a portable hotspot? It is a device which allows you to connect to the internet with high speeds and acts as your personal mobile broadband connection. This is a secure way to connect to your Wi-Fi enabled devices anywhere you have cellular service.

Currently we have two devices available to borrow, and getting one is easy.

What to do and what you need:

• Ask for a Hotspot at the Hudson Area Library circulation desk

• Provide a driver's license or Wisconsin ID

• Provide a current MORE library card in good standing

• You must be at least 18 years of age

• Must complete a "Mobile Wi-Fi HotSpot User Agreement"

Return information:

• 14 day, checkout; no renewals

• $5/day, late fee

• Devices must be returned in person to the Circulation Desk at the Hudson Area Public Library

For more information about this and other services, visit or call 715-386-3101.
