Did you know that tucked quietly within the walls of the Hudson Library is a used book store? It's true! Found on the second floor of the library, in room 215, the Friends of the Library book store is a hidden gem that sells gently used donated books, CD's, DVD's and audiobooks. The money raised from the sale of these items is used to help the library provide quality services and programming to the community.

On any given day, you'll find a large selection of mystery, fiction (including romance, Sci-Fi, and westerns), children's, middle grade, and young adult titles. There are also many non-fiction sections including history, biography, cookbooks, gardening, travel and art/photography. Unique to our store is a selection of poetry, classics, large print titles, sports, and science/nature. It's a fun and easy place to shop and the price is right, most titles are priced from 50 cents to $2.

Friends' volunteers price donations and re-stock the shelves weekly, so our inventory is always fresh. We keep the store neat and the shelves labeled so books are easy to find. There is a self-pay box located at the entrance to the store or you can make your purchase at the main floor circulation desk. If you're short on time, check out the "Quick Picks" shelf just outside the store to find new releases and books recommended by our volunteers. Shop the store during regular library hours and be sure to like our Facebook page (FriendsoftheHudsonAreaLibrary) to be the first to hear about our in-store pop-up sales and twice yearly book sales.

You can help the Friends' book store by making donations of items in like-new, resalable condition and by becoming a Friends' member and volunteering for the many opportunities we have available. For more information email us at HudsonLibraryFriends@gmail.com or pick up a brochure at the Quick Picks shelf.
