Winter has been rough, but spring is taking hold quickly and now is the time to stock your bookshelves for a summer of reading. The Friends of the Hudson Library Spring book sale starts Monday, April 29.
The sale will be staffed by Friends volunteers during the regular business hours of the library, located at 700 First St., Hudson. All funds raised at the sale directly support the library.
There will be hundreds of books, many never before seen in the store, in a wide variety of genres including fiction, mystery, large print fiction, young adult (large supply), classics, poetry, and a host of non-fiction including art, cookbooks, biographies, history, home improvement and décor, hobbies and crafts, gardening and more. Prices range from 50 cents to $4. All children's and middle grade titles are 50 cents. We also have loads of CD's, DVD's, audio books and
tote bags. Browse early for the best selection, not all items will remain available during the 50% off sale and bag sale.
For two days only, Thursday, May 2 and Friday, May 3, many remaining titles will be available for 50% off the stickered price. This means deals of 25 cents to $2.
Starting Saturday, May 4 and Sunday, May 5 shop the Bag Sale. Buy a brown paper sack for $5 at the circulation desk and fill it with as many items as possible.
Fiction, mystery, western, sci-fi (large supply), and romance will be displayed in the second floor conference room at the top of the stairs; other genres, including all non-fiction, will be located in the main floor atrium. If you are having trouble finding something or have a shopping list you need help filling, ask a Friends volunteer and they will be happy to guide you to a particular section or help you search for books on your list.
If you are not a Friends member, now is a great time to join. All Friends members are invited to the Members Only Preview to shop the sale early on Monday, April 29 from 9-10 a.m. before doors open to the public. Sign up for membership at the door or anytime during book sale week!
