Earth Day is Monday, April 22, and to celebrate the Red Wing Environmental Learning Center will host the "Wild and Scenic Film Festival" at the Sheldon Theatre on Saturday, April 20. A few communities in Wisconsin and California also will be watching this selection of 15 films on April 20.
In Red Wing, the event will raise money for the Red Wing Environmental Learning Center.
The festival's website states that "this year's films will combine stellar filmmaking, beautiful cinematography and first-rate storytelling to inform, inspire and ignite solutions and possibilities to restore the earth and human communities while creating a positive future for the next generation. Festival-goers can expect to see award winning films about nature, community activism, adventure, conservation, water, energy and climate change, wildlife, environmental justice, agriculture, (and) Native American and indigenous cultures."
Before the Red Wing film festival begins the second annual electric car show will be 4-7 p.m. outside of the Sheldon.
Doors for the festival will open at 6 p.m. Tickets cost $10 for students and $15 for adults. Tickets can be purchased at the Sheldon and its website.
