The Basics for Local Kids program is collecting winter wear again for distribution to children in Pierce County and surrounding communities.

Any size snowpants, boots, coats, hats, mittens and gloves will be accepted in collection bins available during business hours at these locations:

River Falls: UW-River Falls Book Store, the University Center, and Curves for Women

Ellsworth: Associated Bank, Bank Mutual, M&I Bank, Ellsworth Public Library

Prescott: Prescott Chiropractic, First National Bank of River Falls-Prescott

Elmwood: Citizens State Bank

Hager City: Hiawatha National Bank

Maiden Rock: Hiawatha National Bank

and any other locations hosting a Basics for Local Kids box.

Donations will help keep children warm and encourage them to be active outdoors during the cold weather season.

Two distribution events will be held at the end of October, one in River Falls and one in Ellsworth. The program will also continue to fill requests on a case by case basis throughout the winter as inventory is available.

Monetary donations can be mailed to Basics for Local Kids/P. O. Box 61/Ellsworth, WI 54011. Basics for Local Kids is a 501c3 non-profit program through Abundant Life Church of River Falls. Please note if a tax-deductible receipt is needed.
