Artists needed for fair

Artists are being sought for the annual Spirit of the St. Croix Days fine art and traditional crafts fair sponsored by The Phipps Center for the Arts, in partnership with the Hudson Area Chamber of Commerce and Tourism Bureau. The fair will take place on Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 25 and 26 in Hudson's Lakefront Park. The deadline for applications is Saturday, May 1. Private violin lessons

Private violin lessons for students ages 7-adult are offered throughout the year by Sarah Bertsch, (715) 381-5735.

Summer private voice lessons

Elizabeth Hawksford Schaefer will offer private voice lessons for ages 10 through adult on Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 4:30 to 8 p.m., June 29-Aug. 12. Schaefer's instruction centers around the individual needs of her students. She strives to teach students how to sing using a free and efficient means of voice production, while gaining a greater appreciation and understanding of the singing tradition. Ballroom dance parties

Ballroom dance parties will be offered on Saturdays, May 15 and June 19, from 7 to 10 p.m. in the dance studio. Tom Larson will offer a ballroom and Latin dance lesson during the first hour. This is an opportunity to have fun trying out new dance skills in a relaxed and comfortable environment. Dancers of all experience levels are welcome. Admission is $12 per person.

Yoga classes

Vinyasa Flow yoga classes continue on Thursdays from 6:30-8 p.m. Beginning yoga will be offered on Tuesdays and Gentle Level 1 will be offered Fridays from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Classes are ongoing and may be taken at any time. Punch-cards may be purchased for $120 per 10 classes and are good for four months. Punch-cards are good for any of the three classes offered each week. Students only pay for the classes they attend. Students should wear loose, comfortable clothing and bring a yoga mat.

Tai chi classes

Tai chi classes continue on Thursdays from 9:30-11:30 a.m. Classes are ongoing and may be taken at any time. Punch-cards may be purchased for $96 per eight classes and are good for four months. Students only pay for the classes they attend.

Summer art camp

Summer Art Camp, which offers weekly partial and full-day classes for ages 4-18 in drawing, painting, sculpture, pottery, mosaic, animation, fiber arts, jewelry-making, puppetry, creative dramatics, musical theater, and much more, from June 14 through Aug. 13, is now open for enrollment.

Photography club

The Western Wisconsin Photographic Club meets regularly at The Phipps. Photographers of all levels of ability and experience are invited to these meetings. For more information, contact Margaret Strehlo, (715) 386-5048.

Healing Arts at Hudson Hospital

The work of Pauly Cudd, Deborah Foutch, Tracy Herlache, Monica Johnson, Peter Johnson, Cheryl Le Clair-Sommer, Rita Lundgren, Catherine Lynch, Kim Matthews, Polly Norman, Ann Phillippi, Lorie Speigel, Lisa Stauffer, Jill Van Sickle, Michele Wegler and Erin Babcock White is currently on display.

The Galleries

Galleries hours are Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Sunday noon to 4:30 p.m., as well as one hour before and through intermission of all performances in The Phipps theaters.

The Gift Gallery

The Gift Gallery offers unique fine art and traditional crafts by noted area artists. Gift certificates are also available. Gift Gallery hours are Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon, as well as one hour before and through intermission of all performances in The Phipps theaters.
