We have all had those times when we didn't have the energy to cook and going out to the favorite eatery was not appealing either. It is those times that Dustin Smith is counting on as his fledgling business continues to grow.
The idea for Cravings Delivered was perking around in Smith's mind for a year before he took the plunge. Last November the Hammond resident began researching and acquiring all of the necessary licensure to operate as a food delivery service. The company, Cravings Delivered, was officially launched late this spring.
Smith, who continues to work a full-time job in the Twin Cities, is confident the business will grow. His wife and mother help out and are enthused about how they can make life a little easier for their customers.
Today, they offer a unique service -- delivering food from the Hudson area restaurants that do not offer their own delivery service.
The concept is simple. You call Cravings Delivered and place your order. If you are not sure what you want, Smith offers links to many of the popular area restaurants on his website, www.cravingsdeliveredonline.com.
Cravings places the order with the restaurant, picks it up and delivers it to your door.
"Our delivery vehicle is equipped with coolers and warmers to keep the food at the proper temperature during transit," said Dustin Smith.
Smith plans to expand with longer hours and down the road to other markets including River Falls.
You may call Cravings Delivered at (715) 808-1782 to place an order. Delivery is on three evenings a week at the present time: Sunday from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m.; Monday from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. and Tuesday from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. After the order is placed Cravings Delivered will text you the dollar amount of the order. Currently Cravings Delivered accepts cash and checks.
