MAIDEN ROCK--Maiden Rock Village Trustee Wayne Larson announced his resignation, effective Feb. 1.
Larson was in his second term as trustee; his present term was set to expire next April. He cited his employment for the resignation, as he is a truck driver. The village board will likely appoint his replacement at next month's meeting.
In other news, the board:
--Discussed whether or not to penalize board members if they miss meetings due to unexcused absences. At this point, no policy is in place.
--Was informed the village's insurance carrier is concerned more liability is needed when the fire department shoots off fireworks on July 4. The carrier's recommendation is to have a licensed blaster on site. Village officials said they will initially ask someone from Wisconsin Industrial Sand to handle the duty.
--Set the next meeting for 6 p.m. Monday, March 1.
