The Milwaukee Brewers will open a weekend series at Philadelphia tonight.
The Phillies are making a push for the playoffs, while the Brewers are trying to avoid dropping into fourth place in the National League Central. Milwaukee fell into a tie with Houston for third, after the Brewers dropped three games at Cincinnati this week.
Philly, meanwhile, has won six-of-its-last-seven. They have a two-game lead for the NL Wild Card, and they're two games behind first-place Atlanta in the NL East.
The Brewers were off yesterday while Philadelphia won a 12-to-11 slugfest at Colorado. The Phillies scored nine runs in the seventh, highlighted by a grand slam from Chase Utley. The Phillies are 76-and-58, while Milwaukee is at 62-71. Left-hander Chris Capuano goes for the Brewers tonight against Phillies' southpaw Cole Hamels.
