INDIANAPOLIS - The University of Wisconsin men's basketball team played far better defense vs. Penn State than they did vs. Ohio State. It was its offense which was ineffective as Penn State knocked the Badgers out of the Big Ten Conference tournament Friday, 36-33 at Conseco Fieldhouse

Wisconsin hit just 29 percent of its shots from the field, including 2-of-21 three points. Penn State jumped out to leads of 12-0 and 16-2, but the Badgers slugged their way back into the contest. It was tied at 22. No Penn State player reached double figures. The point total was the lowest in the history of the tournament.

As usual, Jordan Taylor and Jon Leuer led Wisconsin scoring. Taylor had 16 and Leuer 10, but the standouts were having their own shooting problems, connecting on just 12 of 37 attempts.

The Nittany Lions beat the Badgers for the second time in three games this season. UW, 23-8 overall, now waits to see where they will play in the NCAA Tournament next weekend.
