Former Golden Gopher great Kevin McHale has made it official. He's the new head coach of the Rockets after he agreed to terms. The "Houston Chronicle" originally reported that the Rockets agreed in principle to a three-year contract with NBA Hall of Famer. The deal would also include a team option for a fourth year. The 53-year-old McHale replaces Rick Adelman, who was let go after four seasons at the helm. McHale previously coached the Minnesota Timberwolves and starred as a pro player for the Boston Celtics. He is a native of Hibbing.
