Myrtle Evelyn Olson, 97, of River Falls and formerly of Ellsworth, died Friday, Feb. 23, 2007, at The Lutheran Home: River Falls.
She was born Oct. 4, 1909, in the town of Trimbelle, Pierce County, Wisconsin, to Edward and Selma (Swanson) Olson.
Myrtle married Herbert Olson on Sept. 8, 1934, at Svea Lutheran Church in Hager City. They were married over 50 years.
Myrtle worked for many years at Smead Manufacturing in River Falls.
She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, playing the piano and she made the best Swedish meatballs.
Myrtle was a member of Zion Covenant Church and Covenant Women.
She is survived by her three daughters: Delores Ruckle of River Falls, Doreen (Perry) Melstrom of Ellsworth, and Char "Jean" (Mike) McCusker of Coon Rapids, Minn.; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and friends.
Her husband, Herbert; daughter, Marjorie Meacham; parents; and sisters and brothers: Dorothy, Virgil, Marlin and Vernette, preceded her in death.
Funeral services for Myrtle were held Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2007, at the Hill Funeral Home & Cremation Services, in Ellsworth. The Rev. Corey Johnsrud officiated.
Spring burial will be in the Bethel Covenant Cemetery in Ellsworth.
Pallbearers were Mark Ruckle, Greg Melstrom, Troy Meacham, Troy Lawrence, Paul McCusker, Jarek Kwiatkowski and Brady Lawrence.
Hill Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Ellsworth assisted the family.
