On Saturday, Lighthouse Community Church, 3285 144th St. W., Rosemount will host a Men's Breakfast with Minnesota Vikings mascot Ragnar on Saturday, Sept. 16. The public is invited for pancakes, giveaways, music and lots of fun from 8-10 a.m. at Lighthouse Community Church. Cost is $5 in advance and $8 at the door. Purchase your tickets at Lighthouse.?

'Kenny Open'

A benefit golf outing and spaghetti dinner and silent auction to assist Reservist 1st class petty officer Ken Hendrickson and his wife, Jill, has been scheduled for Sunday, Sept. 17.

Ken Hendrickson, a Rosemount resident, was injured in Iraq on June 5, when the Humvee he was traveling in struck a roadside bomb. He sustained multiple injuries and is still recovering from the incident. On July 11, he received the Navy's Purple Heart award.

The "Kenny Open" golf scramble will be held at Fountain Valley Golf Course in Farmington, with registration at 7 a.m. and a shotgun start at 8 a.m. It is open to public participation, and hole sponsors are welcome. The cost of $85 per person includes 18 holes of golf, a cart, and all-you-can-eat spaghetti dinner after the event. Hole sponsorships are available for $100. The Ken Hendrickson Spaghetti Dinner and Silent Auction will be held from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m., at the Farmington American Legion, that same day. Advanced sale tickets are available at the Legion or the Farmington Independent office. Tickets are $10 per person, which includes the spaghetti dinner and prize drawings throughout the day. RUMC?garage sale

Rosemount United Methodist Church, 14770 Canada Ave. W, Rosemount, is holding it's semi-annual garage sale. The sale features clothing, toys, household items, books, furniture and many yet-to-be-discovered treasures.

Cheerleading clinic

On Saturday, Sept. 23, 10 a.m. - 2 p.m., the RHS Competition Cheerleaders with head coach Mario Navarro will be hosting a Cheerleading Clinic. The clinic is designed for kids in K - 8th grade. The?kids will learn various cheers, stunts, dances and put on a show at the end of the clinic for parents and friends. Square dancing lessons

Square Dance lessons will be offered on Monday, Sept. 25 at the United Methodist Church, 14770 Canada Road, Rosemount, beginning at 7 p.m.

The first lesson is free and square dances are held in a smoke-free, alcohol-free environment, combining a healthy atmosphere and stimulating physical and mental exercise to promote good fun and fellowship. Wear comfortable shoes and casual clothing.?

Couples, singles and families welcome. Experienced dancers will be available to assist. Lessons are offered by the Dakota Grand Squares, an area Square Dance club.

Spaghetti Supper

Rosemount Middle School, 3135 143rd St. W., will host a spaghetti Supper 5-7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 28.

The fund-raiser is open to the public and will be held in the school's multi-purpose room. The cost is $5 and all proceeds will be used to help literacy for all students through the purchase of multi-level books to form mini-libraries within classrooms for students to access during a particular unit of study. ??

Haunted Woods Trail

The Rosemount Halloween Committee will host the Haunted Woods Trail 6-8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 28. The trail will start at the park and ride lot on Highway 3 and will wind its way down through Central Park.
