When up to 10 inches of snow fell in the metro area during a storm last week, athletic directors knew their job this spring just got a little tougher.
Rosemount High School's athletics director Mike Manning has faced this scenario many times, and he was busy this week looking at ways to reschedule games and practices.
"We are cancelling virtually everything that is scheduled for this week," Manning said. "We had a couple of scrimmages set and a game on Saturday."
The Irish Dome has helped keep teams practicing as the snow continues to fall.
"It is making me appreciate the Dome," Manning said.
The Irish baseball team scrimmaged Farmington at 5:30 a.m. on Wednesday at the Dome.
Manning is scheduling practices in the Dome, the auxiliary gymnasium at the school and just about any place else there is room for a team.
When reached by phone on Tuesday, Manning said the next thing on his to-do list was to start looking at next week's schedule and attempt to find more options.
