- Police were called at 8:57 p.m. on May 7 to the MGM liquor store on the report of a drunk male at the store causing problems.
He was yelling profanities at the staff, which was refusing to sell him more alcohol.
Police located the man, who then called the police officer names. He was transported to Ramsey County detox.
- Police responded at 4:13 a.m. on May 7 on the report of a man either dead or passed out in the lawn at the Hastings Inn. A male was found laying down, face-first, near the garbage.
The responding officer wrote that when the man "awoke from his deep slumber" he was able to identify himself. The man told officers he may have had a few drinks, but not too many.
The man was transported to his house, where his mother was able to look after him.
- A Hastings man living on Maple Street reported May 6 at 4:04 a.m. that he had been assaulted while taking out his garbage.
The man noticed his garage door was open and saw movement coming from the garage. The man was struck in the head by an unknown object by a tall male, who was last seen running west on 19th Street.
