The Rockin' Hollywoods again will be the headliners for a night of fun to benefit St. Joseph Catholic School. The second Spring Fling will be Saturday night at the Red Wing Elks Lodge.
Doors open at 5:30 p.m.; an appetizer and dessert buffet and silent auction will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., followed by a live auction at 8 p.m. The band will start playing around 8:30 p.m. for the dance, which is open to the public.
The silent auction will include an assortment of certificates and tickets to events, plus specialty items such as an airplane ride, river tour, art work, furniture and sporting events.
Also, class projects by the children including a quilt and a toy box will be auctioned. The prize is "diamond in a glass," Leise said. Fifty champagne glasses will be sold; one of them will come with a diamond necklace. Another unique prize being drawn is a year's tuition to the school.
Local artist Art Kenyon created an oil painting of Barn Bluff for the live auction, which also will feature a gourmet dinner prepared by Father Thomas Kommers.
The first Spring Fling last year raised almost $18,000, Leise said. Proceeds go to books, equipment and supplies for kids. Tickets are $25 for the entire evening, or $10 for people who come at 8:30 p.m. for the dance only. For information, call Mari Maroushek, 388-9493, or Leise, 388-3241.
