GOODHUE -- The Wildcats ended their season against a hot St. Charles team, losing 72-51.

"Their coach said this is the best they've played all year," Goodhue coach Tony Poncelet said. "Whatever they threw up went in."

St. Charles finished 23-for-42 (54 percent) from the field, including an 8-for-19 performance from behind the 3-point arc. Five players tallied double figures -- Brad Kohn (18), Elliot Beyers (16), Shane Lange (16), Jon Haneberger (12) and Logan Jensen (10).

The Wildcats, who shot only 40 percent from the field (18-for-45) and 21 percent from three (3-for-14), were led by Dan McNamara's 14 points. Tyler Erie tallied 13 points, while Brett Watson scored nine and Jordan Warren eight. Warren grabbed a team-high 10 rebounds.

No. 4 Goodhue ended the regular season with a 9-16 overall record and will play the winner of No. 5 Glenvill-Emmonsor/No. 12 Cannon Valley Lutheran on March 1 in the Section 1A West tournament. The game is at St. Olaf College.
