LAKE CITY - The Tigers finished seventh out of 10 teams with 86 points at their own tournament. Medford won with 216 points.
Lake City freshman Rusty Grisim placed first at 112 pounds with a 2-1 decision win in the finals Saturday against Northfield junior Brandon Canedy.
Wade Dugstad, a senior, took third at 130 pounds and seventh-grader Will Balow placed fourth at 145 pounds.
"That's pretty good for a seventh-grader," Lake City coach Lonnie West said. "Typically, 145 that's one of your tougher classes. Most wrestlers are going to be juniors or seniors."
He added: "Right now his No. 1 asset is determination: He doesn't like to lose."
At 140 pounds, senior Ryan Malcomson placed fifth.
Junior Chris Moyer (125 pounds), sophomore Sam Dugstad (171 pounds), senior Tom Schmidt (189) and senior Braham Gadient (285) finished sixth.
"They did OK as a team," West said. "It was a tough tournament."
Lake City returns to action Thursday when it plays host to Hayfield. It is the Tigers' last home meet of the season.
