Game recap: It was never much of a contest between the two squads in the Hiawatha Valley League contest.
"Byron took advantage of a short field and scored 21 points in the first quarter," Lake City Coach Trevor Narum said.
And the Tigers?
"We didn't make anything happen. Offensively we did not move the ball."
Byron rushed for 166 yards and threw for 192, while Lake City had 43 yards on the ground and 25 yards in the air.
Difference maker: Byron quarterback Brady Fuchs ran in a 2-yard touchdown and also threw for two more to lead the Bears. Teammate Cole Fuchs carried the ball 15 times for 84 yards, while Evan Morris caught six passes for 132 yards and a touchdown.
Top players: Narum said his defense played well at times. Senior Zach Griebenow had six and a half tackles, while junior Rusty Grisim had six.
Next up: Lake City (0-5, 0-7) at Rochester Lourdes, 7 p.m. "We'd better come ready to play," Narum said.
